And Then Sister Beck Texted President...

Hola!!
England is great. The end.
Love,
Sister Moody

Just kidding I will write more. ;)

This week has been great! Hard, but great. :)

Monday we went to Primark. It's basically the best place ever. Think Kohls, but ten times cheaper. I got the best reindeer socks. I will take a picture sometime I send it. And they were only £3!! Here, that is SO cheap.

Tuesday we had Zone meeting. Can I just say how much I love my zone? The Hyde Park Zone is the best. I mean, I'm sure everyone says that, but ours really is. ;) We are a smaller zone, so we are pretty close. The zone leaders, Elder David and Elder Torgesen, gave us amazing training. The Spirit was so strong and so close. I really know that I was meant to serve at this time, in this place, with these missionaries.

Wednesday was AH-MAZ-ING. Oh my days. It was the sister's conference, so every sister in the mission came to the chapel and Sister Jordan and the Sister Training Leaders gave the best conference. The spirit was so strong. Did you know that the first sister missionaries were in England? How cool! This mission has so much history. I love it! The VC sisters also had 2 musical numbers. My hesitation to sing in front of people has gone out the window. :) Anyway, the conference was perfect and amazing in every way. And then after, we had an exchange with the Sister Training Leaders! So Sister Beck went to Ilford with Sister Carvalho and Sister Curtis came here with me. :) I loved it! She is wonderful. I learned so much from her and just had the best time.

Thursday, after we switched back, Sister Beck and I went to contact a church head quarter referral and got lost...we found it! But then didn't know how to get back to the tube station or a bus stop. So we were wondering around St. Johns Wood, not knowing where to go. Finally, we found a bus stop, but the bust wasn't going to be there for 15 minutes! And it was like a 20 minute ride back to our flat. And it was about 8:50. So we had exactly 40 minutes to make a 35 minute journey. We struck up a conversation with someone at the bus stop and waited. And waited...finally, about 15 minutes later, there was no bus. We decided to RUN to the tube stop (about a six minute walk away). We made it but ended up being about 5 minutes late into our flat...but hey! We were able to have AMAZING conversations on the tube and gave away a Book of Mormon. So there was a reason. :) And the Zone leaders were awesome, we called them when we realized we would be late and they were so understanding!

Friday, we went to go visit a less-active, and ended up having an emergency. For privacy reasons, I won't give details, but I really learned that in desperate times, the Spirit is close. As long as we listen and are open, the Spirit will speak to us in a very precise and direct way. Also, President Jordan is an amazing man. He was able to guide us and direct us over the phone. He is truly inspired and I am so grateful that he is our mission president. :)

Saturday we had the ward Christmas party/brunch! I LOVE our ward. Hyde Park 2 is the best! :) The members are so welcome and warm and willing to help. And, they are the funnest. We had a "Santa Selfie Wall" and it was just a lot of fun. :)

Sunday was magnificent, as always. There was a lady who came into the VC my first day here, who just randomly came to church! That was amazing! So we set up a time to see her on Wednesday and we can't wait. :)

Then after church, Sister Beck and I put bows on 24 Book of Mormons (Books of Mormon? The world may never know.) and put "He is the Gift" pass along cards inside all of them. Then we went to Notting Hill and stood outside the tube station and gave them away as Christmas presents! We figured we would be able to get all of them out, but it would take 1-2 hours. We ended up giving ALL of them out in 30 minutes! It was a MIRACLE. So wonderful. And hey, now 24 people are that much closer. :) Literally, such a testimony builder. To see how willing some people were to accept a book they had never heard of from people they had never met was amazing. We really pray they give us a call and come into the chapel. :)

Then Sunday night...we had an investigator, Samuel, come to the chapel. Samuel is amazing and so ready to be baptized. He is living everything, keeping commitments, reading, praying, and has a desire. This is all he wants. His spirit and countenance is amazing. The only problem is, is that he can't come to church. He works every day from like 4:20 am to 8:00 pm and CANNOT get any time off. He has asked and asked, yet his boss won't let him. Here, in order for someone to be baptized, they have to come to church three times. He is from Brazil and doesn't like his life here, so he is planning on going back as soon as he can. He came straight to the chapel on Sunday after work and we had an AMAZING lesson. The spirit was so strong! He is so ready and prepared and pure. We are hoping and praying that his boss's heart will be softened, and that he will be able to make it to church. He is on date for the 21st so we are praying hard!

Also, Sister Beck and I got to teach Sunbeams and get to teach it again for the next two weeks. I love it!! I'm so grateful as well that I served in Nursery. :)

Okay really quickly, I love Sister Beck. She is amazing. We are so similar and just work together SO well. She is incredible and I am so grateful for her.

Funny story of the week! Sister Beck texted Samuel Sunday afternoon "We can't wait for you to come to the chapel tonight! We have something great to show you!" but...ended up sending it to President Jordan. But we didn't realize this until about 8:00 when we got a text back saying "Just got back from Canterbury Zone. What did you need to show us..?" SO FUNNY! Sister Beck was SO embarrassed. Luckily, we needed to call him anyway so that worked out. :)

Well, I know this week hasn't been the most exciting, or there hasn't been anything super incredible, but it has been hard. Honestly, it's been the hardest week so far. BUT, I have grown so much and learned so much. I get to testify of Christ as our Saviour each and everyday. I am in one of the most famous cities in the world, teaching people the Restored Gospel. It is incredible!! I finally realized this week, that I am a missionary, and because of that, we have the authority to be bold with people. To tell them how it is, in a kind and loving way, and by doing so, bring them closer to Christ and to our Heavenly Father. The Atonement is real. I bear you my testimony that God is there, and that he loves us. That Christ died for each of us on a personal, and individual level. I love you all so much. :) Thank you for everything!

Love always,
Sister Heather Moody
