THE QUIRKS, PERKS, AND JERKS OF LONDON

This week has been so wonderful. :)

So first, I said goodbye to Sister Gjevik on Wednesday morning :( and
then was in the trainers meeting all day! We partied hard ;) and
waited to meet the new missionaries! We hid in the garage for 40ish
minutes and then they brought them into the basement. Then while they
were singing "Called to Serve" we marched in. :) Ah it was so cool.
Then President called each missionary up, introduced them, and then
introduced their trainer! My new companion is...Sister Hailey Griffeth
from Preston, Idaho and SHE IS THE BEST. SERIOUSLY. I'm not training
her, she is training me. :) But it has been the best week ever. I
absolutely love her! She is a natural, too. It's been so much fun. :)

On Friday, ELDER HOLLAND CAME. So cool. And we all got to shake his
hand. :) (He later said it was because he wanted to look us in the eye
and stare into our soul..) Man, it was the best rebuking I have ever
received haha. :) He pounded the pulpit and drilled into our minds his
message. It was SO powerful. He talked a lot about how our missions
need to mean everything to us. That we need to be astonishing people,
putting ourselves out there, and acting like we have some authority.
He also talked about how he couldn't understand how someone could
serve a faithful mission, do the things they do, say the things they
say, and then fall away into inactivity. He pounded the pulpit and
said if we ever did that, he would haunt us. He said he would be
scratching on the window in the night, and watching us as we took out
the rubbish. Haha :) but he was serious!! His talk was POWERFUL. I
don't think I can remember a time where I felt the Spirit that strong,
ever.

That night we had dinner with Rose and Michael. :) and on our way
home, we were walking when we witnessed a motorbike accident! Scary.
The guy was alright though. Just very traumatized.

Man, this week during online proselyting, we took the HARDEST phone
call. Ever. He was just bashing and going on and on about how he
didn't respect us, and we were wrong, etc... It was as if the Lord
said "Okay Sister Moody. You've been practicing patience and holding
back the desire to debate for 7 months. Now it's all being put to the
test." Oh boy. We finally told him that we weren't here to argue, by
invite people to learn. He said that he was there to argue and hung
up. The hardest phone call I've had on my mission. And Sister Griffeth
was so good!! Seriously. She is pre-trained!! :)

We also gave one of the hardest tours. Atheist Scientists who just
wanted to tell us that God is delusional. (Hence the jerks part of the
subject ;))

Sunday we had a miracle! Our investigator didn't come to church, and
that's always heartbreaking. But later that day we got a text saying
that she had gone, just to Ilford because her friend was coming back
from his mission! And then we also had a former investigator, the
daughter of members, just randomly come to church! And because no one
else came to church, we were able to have a 1 on 1 class with her and
the elders. She said she loved it and is coming back next week. :)

Well! I'm so grateful for the Gospel. So, so, so, so, grateful. It's saved
my life and I love being a missionary. I love being able to share this
Gospel with the people here. I know that I am supposed to be here. I
wouldn't be anywhere else. Yes, we get rejected on a daily basis. But
it's those rejections that we learn from, and grow from. I'm just so
overwhelmed with love for the people here and love for missionary
work. :)

Love you all! :)

Xx
Sister Moody
