"Bluebird" of Happiness!

December 1, 2014

Hellllllllo there!! :)

Wow. Where do I begin? So, last Monday was P-Day and Sister Beck and I, Sister Ferrell & Rodrigues, and Elder Cook & Elder Tam all went to Winter Wonderland! It's a setup they have in Hyde Park with games, rides, good, shops, etc...Although we couldn't ride anything, it was so fun to experience! We ate a delicious German Sausage and had a blast. :) Then we had our 3 hours of proselyting time and it was amazing!!

We had some guy just come up to us and ask for a flyer. We got his mobile number and it was so great. It was a great P-Day. :) On Tuesday, we had a mission conference! So the whole mission came to the chapel to hear the guest speaker. They also invited London South because.....the guest speaker was......ELDER COOK! Oh my goodness it was so great. He's amazing. And he wanted to shake every missionary’s hand. So we did that and then he spoke! It was amazing. He bore a pure, and magnificent testimony of Jesus Christ. In it, he said that he knows Christ lives because he has heard His voice. How amazing! It was one of the most wonderful conferences and the Spirit was SO strong. Apostles and Prophets are called of God and truly reflect God's love for us.
Wednesday we visited Shabnam, a less active. She is so sweet and wonderful. She also is a professional eyebrow threader so we got that done free of charge! Haha it was so funny, but hey! My eyebrows look fantastic. ;)
Then we had a dinner appointment with Ali. Let me tell you about him...he was baptized a little less than a year ago. He is from Lebanon and the most wonderful man ever. I met him Tuesday for the first time and he immediately shook my hand and told me my name was Bluebird. He said it just came to him and it was perfect. He took us out for crepes and it was so great. He calls us his daughters. We love him so much and he is such a blessing to us. :)

Thursday was Thanksgiving and since that really isn't celebrated here, the VC had our own. :) WE ATE SO MUCH FOOD. I'M SERIOUS. SO MUCH. And then Sister Beck and I had a dinner appointment three hours later for another Thanksgiving meal. Both meals were SO delicious. We ate so much. (But don't worry, I kept it all down, unlike Alan. ;))
Friday....haha....Sister Beck and I were so sick. Probably from eating so much. We aren't really sure. But we both woke up feeling so nauseous, and then went for a run. Haha...yeah the rest of the day was pretty miserable but hey! We trucked along and made it through.

Saturday we had an AMAZING lesson with two new investigators, Comfort and Yao. We taught the Restoration and the Spirit was tangible. They still have question, and don't know if it's true or not yet, but they said they will read 3 Nephi 11 and pray about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. When they prayed after the lesson, they thanked God for being present. They felt the Spirit. The felt it strong. We see them again on Saturday and are so excited. :)
Sister Beck and I also got lost in Harrods. We met this guy from Italy on the tube and he said he wanted an Italian Book of Mormon. So we got his mobile and told him we would stop by Harrods to give it to him. (He works there) Well.....we got lost. Wandering around all of this expensive stuff...(Seriously. A coat was like £2,000) I mean, it was so fun and different and such an experience! But we eventually made it out. :) Also, as we were running to the bus stop, my foot caught on a portion of the uneven sidewalk and I totally wiped out. Flat on the ground. Pass along cards flying out of my pockets and everything. (I'm just so glad my bag was zipped.) Honestly, it was HILARIOUS! :) I'm fine. Just have some AWESOME bruises on my knees. :)
Sunday! We had an investigator come to church and he is fantastic. Afterward, we took him to the Cardall's for dinner. (I love them. They are the nicest people and I just absolutely love serving with them.) He knows the church is true, he said that when he first met the missionaries on the bus a few months ago, he felt someone pushing him to go to church. All he wants is to be baptised. He can feel that it's true. He reads, prays, etc...But he can't be baptised because he returns to Iraq in a week and they won't accept that there. It's so sad to see this happen, but he has incredible faith and we KNOW that he will be blessed because of that.
He also really wants me to marry his brother...................hahahahahaha :) So the biggest lesson I have learned this week is that sometimes, you just need to wear your CTR ring like a wedding ring....haha......I love London life. When we need to take out the rubbish, we just set it on the curb and they pick it up the next morning. Oh my days, I just love London so much. The tube is great, hot, but great haha :) you meet some interesting people! :)
Okay! So, the Church has started a new initiative. He is the Gift. christmas.mormon.org Everyone watch it. :) It is amazing! We share it in the VC so much, and it makes me emotional every time we watch it. It talks about the true meaning of Christmas and the first gift of Christmas. God loved us so He gave us his Son. So let's embrace this gift. Let's discover this gift. Christ is our Saviour and Redeemer and this Christmas, let's share that. Post the video on your Facebook with your testimony, share it with everyone you talk to, and remember the real reason for celebrating this season. God has given us this gift. Christ is the gift, as we embrace this and share it with others, we will grow closer to our Heavenly Father and develop a personal relationship with Christ. I promise you this. Thank you for your support and prayers, I can feel it everyday. I love you all so much. :)

Love always,
Sister "Bluebird" Moody
