Hello hello!
This has been a fun week. It started
with interviews on Tuesday! That was great! I always love talking to President,
and this time we also got to have an interview with Sister Stevens. :) Their
words and counsel, was DEFINITELY, an answer to my prayers! Then we also talked
about the talk by Elder Holland "Where Justice, Love, and Mercy
Meet" and that was incredible. :)
Then later on Tuesday, out new VC
directors arrived, Elder and Sister Hulet from Upland, California! They are
fantastic!! I love them. It's going to be great getting to know them more and
serving around them. :)
On Wednesday, it was the Hulet's
first VC shift, and they got to experience EVERYTHING haha. We had some of the
CRAZIEST, and some of the most prepared people walk in! Then later, we got a
call from our investigator, Justina! (She's our major miracle from a few weeks
back) We haven't had any contact with her and we had been really worried. We
called at least once a day, usually more, and stopped by so many times and left
notes. She called and told us that she had been really sick, and staying with a
friend, but that she was so appreciative of us continuing to reach out to her.
:) It was so good to hear that she was okay!
Later that day, we had a world wide
missionary broadcast, and it was incredible. The theme was "teach
repentance, and baptise converts" and they really focused in on the basic
fundamentals of missionary work. It was an amazing broadcast!
I also had the opportunity to chat
on mormon.org with this
guy named Martin, who lives up in Northern England. He's great! He has a lot
going on in his life, and he is just searching for peace. I've been able to
call him and have phone lessons, almost everyday this week, and he is so ready!
We're just waiting for the missionaries to contact him, and once they do, he'll
progress really well. :) I'm excited to hear about how it all goes for him!
Thursday, we had a lesson with a new
investigator I met on the bust, named Ben. We introduced the Book of Mormon and
he told us that he was searching for truth. He has previously joined a few
other churches, but didn't feel satisfied. We bore our testimonies, and told
him that we had truth, and he could find out for himself. We then invited him
to read and pray, and he said he would. :) He went out of town for a bit, but
we will see him again soon!
Then that night we had another new
investigator show up at the VC! She was really sweet, but super hesitant to set
up a return appointment, so we will see what happens. She wants to come back in
and watch Meet the Mormons, so we will find a time for that!
Friday we had a lesson with Leah,
and we taught about church, praying, and reading, with this really cool knife
and cup demo. They loved it! Leah is doing soooo well, and it just the
sweetest. We moved her baptismal date to February 13th, and she's solid! :)
Then we saw Lorraine, and Michael came with us. She is still having a rough
time, but is beginning to feel more peace, the more we come. Her progression is
slower, but it's coming and she is doing really well. Then afterward, Michael
also came with us to see Justina! We taught her about the Restoration, and she
seemed to really enjoy it. She has been telling her friends all about the
Mormons and had a lot of really good, and sincere questions. We also put her
back on date for the 20th of February. :)
Saturday, after our VC meeting, we
had breakfast cooked by a chef! Haha, one of the members of the YSA ward is
starting his own porridge restaurant, and so he came and cooked for us! IT WAS
DELICIOUS. Whoo yeah! Then we had this wonderful Chinese man come into the VC!
Sister Griffeth and Sister K gave him a tour, and we found out he is in our
area! He is here working, and his family is coming over today for a few weeks,
and he really wants them to meet us. :) We will see him later this week! He's
great!
Then that night we went to see
Hollie and Jean. Hollie is so strong, and hasn't smoked this whole week!! And
Jean is talking to his boss about making sure he has Sundays off, so he can
come back to church. They are great, and I love seeing them. Also, as we were
leaving, their little boy ran up to us and said "Hey! Kisses!!!" Then
kissed us on the cheek and gave us nose wiggles. It was SOOOOOOO cute. :)
Sunday, Justina and Lorraine came
and really enjoyed it. Then after sacrament meeting, we looked behind us, and
Mel had come! She is someone that I met on the street a few transfers ago, and
we called her this week and invited her to church, and she came! She stayed for
all 3 meetings and really enjoyed it. :) Then after church, we rode back with
Justina on the bus, and were able to have a mini lesson with her. :)
That night in the VC, the elders
brought in the sweetest Chinese girl, and watched God's Plan. She loved it, and
we were able to have a really sweet experience with her. The Spirit was strong
and she is meeting with the Elders again this week. I love the Visitors'
Centre!!
Well, as always, I love it here! The
best way to describe how I feel can be found in Alma 26:16. :) Love you all!
Xx-Sister Moody
