Wellllllllllll helllllooooo! :)
This week has been crazy! Our investigator, Ana, was baptized
on Sunday and so this week we spent focused on that. Making sure the program
was ready, talks were assigned, record filled out, parents approved, teaching
the last few things, etc... But all is well now! Because...she was baptized!!
Yesterday was magical. :)
So a little bit about Ana, she is 12 and from
Portugal (But her English is perfect!). She speaks like 8 languages and
absolutely loves the Gospel. Her cousins were baptized in November and so that
is how she was introduced to the Church. :) She approached us a few weeks ago
and asked to be baptized and receive the lessons! :) She is AMAZING. When we
taught her about Joseph Smith, she couldn't stop talking about him. When we
taught her about President Monson, she googled his picture and set it as her
background because she loved him so much. She LOVES the Book of Mormon, and all
day at church before her baptism she kept dancing and singing "I'm getting
baaaptized I'm getting baaaaptized." She is just magnificent. :)
We also had a first lesson with a fantastic new
investigator! Her name is Daisy and she was a referral from the Elders. She is
in her 20s and just really wants to learn more about her purpose. She is SO
sweet and was so thankful when we gave her a Book or Mormon. We are really
excited to continue meeting with her. :)
Last night we held a
"funeral" for Elder Allred and Sister Falcao (because they are both
going home). We went to the Ward Mission Leaders home and they laid on the
floor while we gave eulogy. Mine was composed of all sorts of scriptures. And
then we played this game that involved cutting flour and getting skittles out
of it with your mouth. It was HILARIOUS! :)
Well I don't have a lot to say, nor a lot of time! So
technically P-Day is tomorrow, but my dear sweet companion is going home on
Wednesday...so today is a packing/limited emailing time day and then tomorrow
is a drive to London day! So if we get a chance to email tomorrow, it
will be like 20 minutes. So basically we are doing half today and half
tomorrow! If that makes sense. :) So hopefully tomorrow I can send a brief
email saying who my new companion is! (I am like 100% sure that I am staying in
Huntingdon. :))
Anyway! So I'm out of time and so I just want to leave you
with my testimony. I KNOW that this Church is true. I know it with every fiber
of my being. Being on a mission has taught me so much, and completely changed
my life. It is the best decision I have ever made. This week I have begun to
learn a very important principle, that before Heavenly Father is going to bless
you, the opportunity to make a sacrifice will be presented. Because Christ
sacrificed all for us. He truly did feel every burden, every sorrow, every sin,
every pain, EVERYTHING. He is my best friend. I truly feel his love everyday
and feel so blessed to be able to bring Christ's love, and God's love, to the
people here. I know that this is where I am supposed to be and I can't wait for
what the future holds. I love you all and thank you for your wonderful support.
And I leave this with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Love you
all!
-Sister Moody
