Heyo!
This week has been...interesting. I don't have a lot of time so I will try and explain it all!
Monday, we went to Kettering for P-Day! We played chair football and ping pong with the Kettering Elders and Sisters, and the Bedford Sisters. It was so much fun!! We bought a brand new football, and ended up busting the seams because...we played hard....Elder Aldred also taught me how to balance on a wheelchair, so, I can check that off my bucket list!
We also attempted to cover the Elder's car in sticky notes, but failed. They caught us....
Tuesday was spent in...LONDON!! :) We had Zone Conference and so we left at
6:30...(it's like a 3.5 hour drive) But Zone Conference was amazing! It was all about finding, different ways, how to start, having faith, family history finding, etc...I loved it. :) And it was fun to be back in the Chapel for the day! A little weird, but fun. :) Then we headed back and.....haha......we didn't get home until about 10. So basically traffic getting out of London is INSANE. Oh my days. And then we took a wrong turn and before we knew it....we had crossed a bridge and ended up in Lamanite Land (aka the London South Mission!) So we had to maneuver out of that. But then we ended up driving over...TOWER BRIDGE. And it was INCREDIBLE! :) Unfortunately, I left my camera at the flat today so I don't have pictures with me....awksss...
The rest of the week was spent trying to implement the new finding things we had learned. But here's the thing, there is no one here. Haha, we do A LOT of tracting, because there is hardly people on the streets. Also, all of our investigators are VERY Portuguese, so, not extremely reliable when you set appointments. So we have really learned the importance of back-up plans!
We had planned to try and bike to St. Ives again. And this time the weather was fantastic! So we started out and I noticed that it was really hard to pedal my bike...and it was making a funny noise...Yeah. I had a flat tire. So we went to the bike shop around the corner, AND IT WAS CLOSED. So. We couldn't go to St. Ives, again. We are starting to thing that maybe the adversary really doesn't want us to? But it's okay now because I have a puncture proof tire and it rides like a champ!
So, this week has been interesting. All of our investigators are very...Portuguese. Meaning that when you schedule an appointment, they aren't there, but if you just show up! You have a better chance of catching them home. So these week was a little rough, seeing as how almost all of our appointments this week fell through. So by
Sunday, we were honestly feeling quite discouraged! Then we went to dinner at the Grovers house. They have 3 of the CUTEST kids! And an AMAZING spirit present. We laughed and talked and watch a really good Mormon Message. Then as we were driving home, we were talking with Sister Grover about how the Elder's have a car but we don't etc...and her little boy pipes up from the back " I know why! It's because the Sisters are just too beautiful!" And then proceeded to sing What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction. It was the sweetest tender mercy I could have asked for. It was a little act from a sweet 7 year old, and yet it changed the tone of my whole week. I realized that sometimes, you just have rough weeks! And while, yes, there are always things you can change and do differently, we are all human and we are all trying to figure out how to live in this crazy world. Our spirits belong somewhere else, and so we are always trying to adjust to mortality. But what is truly important, is that we remember who we are. We are all beautiful children of God, and as long as we continue to seek help from Him, then we will be happy and full of the peace. :)
I love you all and pray for you every night! Thank you for all of your support. :) Until next week! Love you!!
