Hey! :)
So this week has been AMAZING! :) I don't have a lot of
time, so hopefully I can get this all in!
On Tuesday, we drove down to London where we met with Elder
Nielson and President Kearon! They introduced us to....IPADS!!!!!!! So. We got
those on Friday. :) It's been so good! Especially for our Portuguese
investigators! Because we can show them videos and things in Portuguese. :)
We have worked SO hard this week! On 3 separate occasions,
we have fallen asleep in our proselyting clothes, because we literally
collapsed after planning. It has felt so good. :)
On Thursday we learned the importance of using every minute
wisely. We had about 15 minutes before we were getting picked up for a dinner
appointment, so we decided to tract around our neighbourhood for a little bit.
We started by saying a prayer and immediately Sister Shigekiyo thought of this
door we had tried the first week of the transfer, where the lady said we could
come back another time. We stopped by and she immediately let us in! It was
amazing! And we probably wouldn't have been able to contact her if we hadn't of
used those 15 minutes in the most productive way. :)
We have had some FUNNY experiences this week. We taught a
lesson to an investigator that was....drunk. So so so so drunk. It
was....interesting! She is really sweet, and did express her desire to get a
hold of her drinking problem. So we will continue to see her. :) And then we
got MAJOR chatted up by a 14 year old. We were playing football with some of our
recent converts and so he walked over to see if he could join. Of course we
said yes! But not 2 minutes later, he was asking for our numbers. We quickly
explained our purpose as missionaries, but he didn't seem to catch on. And then
he followed us around the whole time. At one point, he interrupted me and said
"No offense but you're really pretty." And just got a little
wide-eyed, said thanks, and then said we could teach him about Jesus Christ
over Facebook...hahaha talk about awkward! Last week, an 80ish year old man
chatted up Sister Shigekiyo HARD CORE. He also thought she was from Poland...?
(She definitely looks Japanese..) It's been interesting. ;)
Today we taught a lesson to a man who in the middle asked
"So, I know most people get baptised when they are young, but can I be
baptised in your church?" We said YES OF COURSE. And he said
"Awesome! I mean, I know I have to read and pray and continue to meet with
you to feel ready, but I think I will!" So he is on date for the 30th of
May. :)
Well, this week passed so quickly and so many wonderful
things happened, that I can't even remember everything! But, I am out of time,
and so now it's time for the news. I'm being transferred! I am SO sad to leave
Huntingdon but I am SO excited to head back to London where I will serve in
Whitechapel with Sister Gjevik! The Whitechapel ward/area is literally central
London. Big Ben, Liverpool Street, Buckingham Palace, etc...I'm so excited. :)
Well! Sorry I don't have much time this week, but I love you
all! I know that this church is true. I LOVE being a missionary with every
ounce of love in my body! Haha, I know that this is the Lords work and I
wouldn't be anywhere else. :)
Love always,
Sister
Moody
We got caught walking home in the rain but my back is completely dry. Sideways rain! I love England!!
