IT'S A BIRD EAT BIRD WORLD OUT THERE

Hey ya'll :)

This week has been really great! So currently the big focus in the ward is cleaning up the ward list. We have a little under 400 names, but more than half we don't know. So we are stopping by/calling them all to see who has moved, who is still interested, etc... So it's been quite the adventure!! We've stopped by a lot of people, rang a lot of buzzers, and had a lot of fun. :)

Tuesday to Wednesday we went on an exchange! So I stayed in Whitechapel with Sister Grant from Finland. :) And we had some miracles! When we were chatting online, there was so, some who came on who could only speak Swedish...but Sister Grant speaks Swedish too!! So that was awesome. :) We also had two people come online who are really interested and excited to learn more. Gary (one of them) is so wonderful. We have been teaching him via email while he waits for the missionaries in his area to contact him. He sent one email that simply said he had learned about the Word of Wisdom and decided he should live it, and he wanted to know of any other commitments he could make!! :) He is wonderful. :)

Then Wednesday night we had a wonderful lesson with a less active. She is so sweet! During weekly planning last week, we just had he sudden impression to call her, and we set up this appointment. When we got there, it was a little awkward at first. But then we started and the spirit really took over. She opened up, and we were able to begin to form a nice friendship with her. Then we saw her again on Sunday and committed her to read every day, and come to church! She really opened up again. It was amazing to see how the Spirit really guided the lessons too. :) She is so sweet! And we are so excited to get to know her even better. :)

Thursday we had....quite the tour...oh my days. So this guy came into the VC and said he wanted to talk and so we showed him Because He lives (He asked who Christ is to us) and then we began to talk about it. Every ounce of my patience was tested as we sat and talked. He asked questions, then wouldn't let us answer because he would interrupt with another question, and then get upset because we didn't answer his first question! And when we did, he wouldn't listen. All he wanted to do was debate, and he wasn't very nice about it either. I was so....worked up that I literally had to bite my tongue to keep from getting so angry at him. Sister Griffeth was amazing though! She explained that there were 5 things we needed to make it back to God, Faith, Repentance, Baptism, the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End! (He asked) He said that didn't seem fair, so she just looked at him and said "Do you normally get rewarded for things you don't do?" BAM! So good. :) We were finally able to get him out, but before he left, we still extended the commitment to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, and bear our testimony of it. He then asked us to read the Satanic Bible and pray to Satan. So then we made him leave. It was...wow. Haha But looking back, it was definitely a learning experience!

We also took a mormon.org phone call and got hit on....?

WE SAW THE CRAZIEST THING. So we were just in the VC when we heard something hit the window. We looked over and saw that a pigeon and flown into the window! Pretty funny, right? WRONG. Because then a seagull flew down, began to attack it, and then KILLED it, and ATE it. Right in front of us. It was crazy.

The next few days were filled with a lot of calls, contacting, stopping people, ringing buzzers, etc... with no success. But the important thing is that we kept trying our hardest, and we did it with a smile on our face, and boldness in our voice! :) But then on Sunday, we had the craziest experience. We got a phone call from a number we didn't know, and it was a friend of a member! We had tried calling a lot of potentials that day, and her number must have been one of them. Her accent was SUPER thick and so we couldn't understand anything she was saying. I just said "Yeah!" a bunch. Turns out I was saying yes to her idea of setting up an appointment with the member friend and us in the coming weeks. :) So that was such a tender mercy. Sister Griffeth and I talked a lot about how hard we were working, but didn't feel like anything was happening. But what we found was that we need to keep working, and show the Lord our dedication, and then in his time, he will send us the blessings. :)

Man though, this week has just been tons of fun. Sister Griffeth is the funnest person and we get along so well. We also think too much alike sometimes haha. :) We are definitely the best at cooking....... ;) I just love her!

Today for p-day we ate crepes and then walked around Harrods. I even bought something....... :O (Harrods is this CRAZY expensive store. Like, 4,000+ pounds for a dress. (I found a really cheap little teddy bear that says Harrods on it. :)) And then we walked through the V&A for a bit. :)

Well! I just love London and I love being a missionary. As we were walking around yesterday I was just overwhelmed with love. Love for the place, people, work, and the Lord. I am so happy to be a missionary at this time. I love it! :)

Have a great week! :)
