I'M STAYING IN WHITECHAPEL!

November 24, 2015

Heyyy ya'll!
Wow. This has been a crazayy week! I don't have tons of time, but here are the highlights. :)
We had dinner with Rose and Michael! One of my favourite nights of the week. :)
So on Thursday, this lady named Rose called the VC and talked to Elder Cardall. She said that her cousin had told her to look into joining the Mormon church! So Elder Cardall got her information and it turns out that she lives in our area! And she lives super close to the chapel, so that's always a bonus. :) We called her and she was SO happy and we set up a time to see her the next night. We had this awesome member named Charity come with us and when we got there, Rose was super happy. We started talked and she stopped us and said "Wait, I think my sons will want to hear this." Then she yelled for them and they immediately came! We had a GREAT lesson with them. They are a cute family from Burundi and are so interested. Before we began, I felt impressed to talk about how the church is like a family and Rose exclaimed "I was just saying this morning how I want to find a church like that!!" We had a great lesson about the restoration with them, and they were all SO interested. After ward, we told them that next time we would talk about our purpose in life and God's plan. Ivan (one of the sons) was super surprised and said "You ACTUALLY know the purpose of life?" Oh little does he know...haha. :) Then all 3 came to church! And Rose seriously acts like a member. She already made so many friends and just fits in. We'll see them again tomorrow and see how it goes! :)
Kemi passed her baptismal interview on Sunday, so she is all good to go for the 29th!!! We are SO excited!! She is great, and I feel blessed to be able to teach her and help her. :)
We ate at a place called POD this week, and the put a REALLY spicy pepper in. Well, I noticed so I just moved it and ate my dish. Sister Wai didn't and ate it, but had enough other food and water left to calm it down. Well, I was making fun of her, and then accidentally did the same. Only I didn't have any food or water left. So we RAN across the street and bought ice cream because I was dying. It was SO funny. :)
We put up Christmas decorations in the VC AND it snowed for like 15 minutes! IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For our online investigators: Gary, was able to meet with his local missionaries. Jack went to the Montreal temple culture celebration and LOVED it. He has been asking us about baptism as well. :) Melvin (he lives in Columbia) wants to serve a mission after his baptism. :) I love serving in the VC. We get to talk to people from ALL over and it's just amazing!
Also, some guy and his girlfriend came into the VC this week. They were obviously a little high, but then we let him play the organ and MAN! He was AMAZING! It was so much fun.
We weren't able to see Vincent, he's been sick. But he has been reading and praying and we will see him this week! :)
Church was wonderful!! Rose, Ivan, and Halvian all came. Kemi came. Angela was also able to come this week!!! So good! We haven't been able to see her, but she came and seemed SO happy. And then a former investigator, Hollie, came as well! She has been really close to Bishop's wife and she came to church this week. She is SO sweet and we will see her again on Saturday. :)
Well! Now for the news...it's transfers and........I'M STAYING IN WHITECHAPEL! Woot! Haha in the words of Brother Buckle "The one missionary we all thought was leaving, is the only one staying." (Sister Wai is going to Britannia, and the Elders are getting whitewashed) This will make 6 transfers, or 9 months, in Whitechapel and I am ECSTATIC! I love this ward and area so much! My new companion will be Sister Dabrowska from Poland!! This will be her 4th transfer. :) I'm so excited! It's going to be great. :) The works is really starting to pick up, and I feel blessed to be here for another transfer. :)
Also, I will be a grandma. Sister Griffeth is training!

Well, if I had to sum up my feels about my mission in one sentence it would be this. I KNOW that the Gospel is what will bring us true happiness.
Love you all! Until next time...
-Sister Moody
