SORRY FOR MY LENGTHY RAMBLES....

March 7, 2016

Hellllloooo!!
This has been quite the adventurous week! First, last P-day we went to Slug and Lettuce as a district. It's basically a really great pub tha is half off on Mondays. :) And on our way there, we ran into the Manchester Mission President! haha, they were in London with a sister who needed visa things AND they had met someone who was a referral for us. So that was great. :)
Tuesday, we went to Sister White's with Jane, and re-taught lessons 3. It was GREAT! Sister White is the best, and the biggest help, and Jane is truly one of the most converted converts. It's a joy to be able to work with her! Then we called an Uber taxi and went back to the chapel! Driving in London is slightly crazy but an adventure, nonetheless.
Wednesday, we taught Jefferson, our new investigator that we met last week, in Acton with Rachel! (She's here with BYU study abroad, and served her mission in the Philippines) It was...interesting haha! We taught him in a Morrison’s cafe, and at first we couldn't take him seriously. We were trying to do a major hot to begin teaching, but he kept saying crazy things and asking why there were so many pretty ladies in our church. It was weird. So we started teaching lesson 1 and it wasn't really going anywhere. But then Rachel bore her testimony in Tagalog, and he stated BAWLING. It was incredible! Suddenly, we all felt the Spirit so strong, and he told us how he was searching for a church to go to, but he needed to know that it was true. We gave him a Book of Mormon and invited him to church, and told him that we could help him find truth. :) It was one of the strangest and best lessons I've ever had!
Then later, we visited a member, Jasu, and she is the absolute sweetest and greatest thing ever. I love her! She's hilarious, and just so nice. We talked about the sacrament and the spirit was strong. :)
After that, we taught another new investigator with Rachel, in a Costa cafe in Shepherds Bush. Her name is Charity and she's incredible! She has such a firm belief in Jesus Christ, and it so excited to learn more. We love her already! She wasn't able to come to church, but should be coming next week. :) We also call her every night and read scriptures with her. She is SO good!
Then we went to Nando's with Rachel and Nando's is always a good idea. (It's this REALLY good restaurant that serves chicken. Ah. So good.)
Thursday, we had fire safety training at the VC! So we learned what to do in the event of a fire, and got to go into some places that we had never been in the VC! It was great.
Friday, we had zone meeting! It was actually really, really great. We learned about how we can make the Sabbath day special for us as missionaries, so that we can help our investigators understand. We also played a hilarious game that involved asking questions, and it got really random and hilarious. :)
Afterward, we did family history with Jane and another member, Meg. It was fun and I got to do some indexing, and it was just really great.
Then afterward, we went finding in Chelsea! Hahahahaahahaaaaahaha. We had some funny experiences. We sopped one guy and he just looked at us and said "Uh, I don't talk to strangers." Then another guy cussed us out. And another pretended he that he didn't speak English. But we did have a really nice chat with a local police officer! It was fun. :) After, the Clarks picked us up and took us to dinner! It was delicious. And then we had gelato afterward. I loved it! They are just a wonderful couple and a joy to be around. :)
Saturday, we had the VC meeting! Sister Griffeth and I gave a training on our new online programs. Basically, every media referral that gets sent goes through a VC sister first. We call them and confirm that they want missionaries, and then keep in contact with them while they begin teaching them, so that we can be an extra mode of support. They are trying to weed out all the uninterested and prank referrals. :) (So for all missionaries out there, treat media referrals like gold! They are being prepared for you by VC sisters. :) Also. update missionary portal referrals. It makes our life 10x easier..there's my soapbox for the week. :)) We spent the rest of the morning finding in Barons Court, and ended up walking to Shepherds Bush. We stopped by a bunch of former investigators and then talked to people along the way. No one was very interested, and it got a little discouraging, but the Lord blessed us later. :)
That night, we called a media referral we had gotten, and she said she would come to church the next day! Well, Sunday came, and she wasn't able to come at 9. So we get out of sacrament meeting at 10 and go to call Jefferson to see if he is coming, and it turns out he was already there waiting for us a the bus stop! So we got him and took him to the Tagalog class. Then, Leah ended up coming!! It was such a miracle! (She's the referral) We were able to take them both to the Hyde Park 2 sacrament so they could see what it was like. :) After church we taught Jefferson, and put him on date for baptism on the 3rd of April! It was another crazy lesson where he said weird things, and then told us how he woke up in the middle of the night and felt something tell him to read the Book of Mormon, so he did and ended up crying. We're so excited to keep seeing him and see how it all goes. :)
Then in the VC, we had one of the best tours EVER. She came in off the street to get warm, and we ended up showing her the Our Faith board, I'm a Mormon board, History Board, AND God's Plan. She was incredible! Something I have learned on my mission, is that the more prepared the person is, the more natural everything flows. And this tour was the most natural thing of my life. We talked all about the blessings of the Gospel, and how she was searching for truth. She lives in the London South Mission, and she agreed to meet with missionaries, so we have sent that referral along, and will also keep in touch. She was AMAZING. It was just...so good and what we needed.
Today, some of the BYU study abroad students were able to get us into Kensington Palace for free! It was INCREDIBLE. We owe them big time. AHHH IT WAS JUST SO COOL!!!! Sometimes, I still can't believe that I am in London.
Well! Sorry that was really long. I realized that I ramble a lot, but I just love it so much here. This past few weeks have been the best of my mission and I am so grateful for the tender mercies and experiences that God has given us. I'm so grateful for my companion and this area. It's truly incredible! I'm just so grateful for the Gospel and the people I get to meet and work with every single day. :)
Hope you all have a great week!
Xx Sister Moody
