Well hello there!
This week has been a little more
challenging...But Monday was so fun! After we emailed and had a lesson with a
recent convert, 'H', we went to the American Air Force base with the Elders!
We met up with Brother 'K' and went to...the bowling alley! IT WAS SO MUCH
FUN! I also ate a double bacon burger. So I was happy. We played about 4 rounds
and let's just say......I didn't win. :)
Tuesday was an adventure! We decided
to bike down to a neighboring village (Buckden) to try and contact a referral.
What we thought would be a 1/2 hour ride, was actually about 45 minutes. And
mostly uphill. But we made it super fun. :) It got really hot though! So we
rode without coats! That never happens in England! We also got this super delicious
Chinese food. But I think it gave me food poisoning or something because I got
SUPER sick for like the next 2 days....
Wednesday, we got hosed a lot.
Appointments fell through, doors shut in your face, typical! But we did have a
little mini miracle! We took a recent convert ('A', he is 16) to an
appointment with us! The person ended up not being there so we started to walk
back. 'A' had just watched The Best Two Years so he had a lot of questions.
He turned to us and said "Why don't you knock on doors anymore?" We
looked at him and laughed because we tract SO MUCH. So he challenged us to
prove it! And pointed to a door for us to try. We handed him our coats and
walked up to the door. To be honest, we were a little skeptical because the
past few days had been filled with angry people and bad tracting experiences.
But the man that answered was SO NICE! He couldn't talk then, but we arranged
another time to stop by. :) 'A' was FLOORED. He thought it was the coolest
thing ever. :)
Thursday was district meeting and I
felt extremely sick.
Friday we biked to St. Ives (about
35-40 minutes) to meet up with some members for lunch. Then we fed the ducks on
the river there. THEY WERE CRAZY! Man. The seagulls are vicious too. And the
swans! Birds. Birds are crazy here.
Then we hopped on a train and went
to...London! We had an exchange with the STL's and we met them at Kings Cross.
I then went back to Huntingdon with Sister Phillips! (She is also a VC sister!
Yeah!) We had an AMAZING exchange! So. The beginning of the week had been so
discouraging. Everything fell through, no one was interested, it was just...a
rough week. But Sister Phillips and I were able to talk a lot about different
subjects and she had some AMAZING advice. We also went trackting and had some
miracles! We found a former investigator who is still very interested, but just
lost contact with the missionaries, and a new investigator who seems very
interested as well! He started out by saying that he hadn't heard anything good
about the Book of Mormon was and was skeptical, and by the end (we
basically gave him the first lesson) he accepted a book and said he would read,
and set up a return appointment!
Saturday we had a full English
breakfast at the Bishop's house and that night and full on 3 course meal, by a
trained chef, Brother Fox. Yeah. It was pretty cool. :)
So this week has been one of the
hardest so far. It's just been...rough. But something I have learned is
that the Lord is mindful of what you need, and more specifically, when
you need it. Alma 37:47 has been an answer to my prayers. He knows the greater
plan for us. He knows what is best for us. And as lond as we have patience,
then everything will work out. If we try our hardest, miracles will happen! We
must "pray like it is all up to Him, but work as if it is all up to
us." I love you all and thank you for all the support. :) The book is blue
and the church it true! :) And I leave this with you in the name of Jesus
Christ, amen. :)
Love always,
Sister Moody
