Well, p-day is on Tuesday today
because tomorrow is transfers!! I will be leaving my visitors' centre home and
heading northwest to Huntingdon! Where I will serve alongside the wonderful
Sister Falcao from Brasil! I am so excited for this new adventure and
opportunity to serve in this blessed land. :) It will be SO different, but I
know that it is where the Lord needs me. :)
So this past week! I will be honest,
I am not sure what happened...haha. :) It has flown by! Hyde Park 2 is being
whitewashed, and Sister Beck and I had the feeling that it would be, so we
spent a lot of time getting our area book into tip top shape.
Uhm, I ate a whole pizza this week.
I was hungry, okay?! :)
We were able to see our investigator
'A' on Saturday! 'A' is an older lady from Hungary and she told us her whole
life story. When she was quite little, she became a refugee in Austria during
WWII, where they lived in a little village and were basically starving to
death, until the American soldiers came. They then moved back to Hungary and
where there during Stalin's reign, and the Hungarian revolution! She is
INCREDIBLE! Now, she is a tour guide, volunteers to visit elderly home bound
individuals, helps the homeless, and goes to 3 churches! But she has been
telling all of her ministers that she is considering joining the Mormons. They
all have told her how evil we are, but she still comes and it beginning to feel
it for herself. She told us that the day she came into the VC for the first
time, she felt as if something was just pushing and pulling her in. :)
We were able to contact our chat
referral, and he wants to be baptized! :)
So lately we have been trying to
visit a lot of AUF's, (lost sheep, people on record but we don't know if they
actually live there) which has been a lot of fun! We go, ring the buzzer, if
they aren't home we tract around to try and find out if they actually live
there. It's fun!! Because you never know what will happen! We tried to find
one, but the flat didn't exsist! It was flat 30, but the building only went to
flat 28. We tried some surrounding buildings, but she didn't live there. Then I
had the feeling to walk around the other side of the building, and BAM! There
it was! We were able to contact the lady, and while she couldn't see us then,
she wanted us to come back!! So that was cool. :)
I don't really have a lot to say,
it's been a busy week! But sometimes we just have a hard time remembering what
happened.... :)
Well, I have loved my time in Hype
Park 2. I have become a new person, with a new confidence and excitement for
life. I feel more complete than I ever have. This week, I realized how I finally,
for the first time in my life, felt like I belonged 100%. It's like a void that
I didn't know existed has been filled. There is no doubt that serving a mission
is the best decision I have ever made. I'm so grateful for this opportunity I
have to give 18 months to the Lord. I don't really know what life not as a
missionary is like anymore. I'm so excited to continue the work in Huntingdon
and can't wait to see what the next 15 months have in store! :)
I love you all so much. Thank you
for everything. :)
-Sister Heather Moody
P.S. CAN YOU BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN OUT
FOR OVER 3 MONTHS?! I feel like it's been 3 weeks. Bah! :)
