Hellllo!
So time is a little bit limited
today...so sorry if this is shorter than normal. :)
This week has been great! They
always are. :) This week has been a little more challenging, but that's okay! I
have learned SO MUCH. And really have grown SO MUCH. It's insane! I feel like
in this past week, I have become a new person. I love how being a missionary
molds and shapes you into being the person the Heavenly Father needs you to be.
:)
The best part of the week was Friday
because....."L" WAS BAPTISED! :) It was beautiful. Her brother was able to
baptise her (He was baptised almost 5 years ago exactly), and the spirit was so
strong. It was really incredible. :)
Other than that, we don't really
have any investigators. We had a lot of potentials, but all of the people we
had appointments with, hosed us. So we did a lot of finding and prep for the
baptism this week! But the best story happened Wednesday.....
So we had an appointment with a
member and so beforehand, we decided to drop by a former investigators house!
So we went and rang the buzzer. No answer....so we were turning around the
leave when this Jamaican man in his LONG JOHN UNDERWEAR comes running out.
"Do you want #17??" We answered yes and that we were looking for
Veronica...He said she was inside and proceeded to lead us down this little
hallway, into this TINY room, where 3 others where. (Veronica, William, Olivia,
and Joseph was the man who led us in). Now here's the thing about some
Jamaicans...you can't understand them. Sister Beck was telling me that it takes
a while to learn how to decipher what they are saying... So I didn't understand
a single word!! At one point, William handed me the Bible and started saying
SOMETHING about Proverbs. I just nodded my head and said "Yeah! I love
Proverbs!" Then he looked at me and nodded his head and said
"Righteous, righteous." The best part was that he had full on Bob
Marley hair. Despite the fact that I had NO idea what they were saying....They
were SO NICE! They really were the nicest people ever. Just really strong
accents and I have a hard time with accents still....haha :) And we are seeing
them again this week! So we will see how that goes. :)
So! Here is my miracle moment for the
week. Last week, a member in our ward (M) was telling us that she had
been in contact with a lady who came into the VC! They looked exactly alike so
the other sisters gave "M" her number. Then this Sunday, the lady (A)
just showed up to church! She is from Hungary and stayed for all 3 meetings!
After Relief Society, she turned to me and kept telling me how much she loved
it. Then she said "Now, you're going to call me, right? And we will visit
and talk, right?" I just laughed and said "Yes! Of course!!" So!
She is the sweetest and we are so excited to talk to her more. :)
Well! I am running out of time, but
know that I KNOW this is where I belong. I am meant to be here at this time and
I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the Gospel and believe it with my
whole heart. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It has changed
my life. :) I love you all! Thanks for everything. :)
Love always,
Sister Moody
P.S. THURSDAY IS MY 3 MONTH MARK!
WHA...?!?!?!?!
