SATAN'S ARMPIT

 Hola!

So. This week has been what I imagine Satan's armpit to be like. (Hence the subject) SO HOT. Like, the hottest it has been in 9 years. It was like 35, and I know that's not as hot as it has been in Utah, but it was HUMID and the tubes were worse. And they smelled. And people smelled. And then we were on the overground train, which has AC, but it was running so much that it was just leaking everywhere and not working. So Sister Griffeth exclaimed "IT'S SO HOT EVEN THE TUBES ARE SWEATING!!" Man. And the nights were even hotter. It was crazy! Haha BUT it was still a crazy fun week. :)

Today was such a fun p-day. The Cardall's took us all out to celebrate the 4th of July! So we chowed down at Five Guys, and went on the cutest walk. :) I just LOVE all of the VC sisters and the Cardall's! It was so much fun. :)

Last Monday we partied it up at the Jordan's flat. Aka we helped Sister Jordan clean out her pantry, and got a full trolley's worth of food. :) Then we had lunch at the Ashby's flat and it was SO cute. And Sister Ashby is a wonderful cook. I love the Ashby's! :)

Tuesday we had Zone Traning meeting and that is always fun. :) We made skits of Book of Mormon stories. We did Ammon cutting off the Lamanites arms. :D

Wednesday was the hottest day. So we just sweat ALL day. Haha :) But then we went to go see Angela, our investigator who is on date (the daughter of members). She is SO sweet. We had a wonderful lesson with her and she is still feeling good about being baptised, she just wants to make sure she is 100% ready. We text her scriptures every night, and she is just incredible! As we were watching the baptism for the Britannia Sisters, all I could think of was Angela dressed in white, ready to make that covenant with the Lord. She is a miracle because of how she has affected my life. I KNOW that one of the reasons I am in Whitechapel is for her. Angela means so much to us. :)

Oh! And on our way to her place, we had a lovely step in with this security guard who was awesome! We prayed with him and he told us that we had made his day. :) He works there every Wednesday, and that's when we see Angela, so we will see what happens! :)

Then later that night we met up with a new investigator, Alex! He is really sweet. From Romania, and turns out that he had actually met with missionaries before! He is really nice. He was supposed to come to church yesterday, but didn't, so we will see what happens. We're praying though! He really is great.

Thursday we had an introductory meeting with President and Sister Stevens! They are WONDERFUL! I love them SO much. President Steven's kind of reminds me of Brad Wilcox. :) The Spirit was incredible, and just kept manifesting over and over, that they are meant to be here. They are truly amazing people. :) Ah, I'm just so excited! :)

Friday we had a dinner appointment with our Filipino mother, Rose, and Michael. :) Wilson (Our ward mission leader) also joined us! Man. I love Filipino food. Rose always tells us that we will be Filipino when we leave her house. :)

Saturday was SO MUCH FUN. So after shift, we went and handed out Book of Mormons at the Book of Mormon musical! It ended, and floods of people came out, and were so surprised to see a bunch of REAL Mormons! I talked to some people who seemed like they were on the verge of hyperventilating because they were so shocked and excited haha. :) It's crazy how some people actually think that it's all made up, that we are really rare. Then one asked "What does it mean to be Mormon?" (GOLDEN QUESTION) So I explained and she really liked it. She also asked where I was from and when I said Utah, screamed. "Oh so you're one of those ones too!!!!!!!" It was SO funny. I got her email so hopefully we will stay in touch. :) Some guy also kissed his hand and touched Sister Griffeth's cheek. Uhm. London is full of interesting characters... :)

Sunday was insanely incredible. Angela came to church, even though she was feeling really sick. She is such a trooper and so wonderful! But no one else who was supposed to come, came. So that is always disappointing. BUT an investigator from the Birmingham mission is on holiday in London, and so she came to church, with her friend who lives here! So we were able to explain a little more to them, and they are coming next week. :) Also, the Whitechapel ward has some INCREDIBLE news. The ward was formed 18 years ago, and ever since then they have tried to find them a building. Currently, we meet in a school. 18 years of fasting, prayer, fasting, prayer, and more fasting and prayer...and we are getting a building!!!! They finally found a place to build a chapel!!!! It is also in the same place, where the first missionaries preached. SO COOL. So testimony meeting was incredible. The spirit was so strong, as we heard everyone's testimonies about how the fasting and prayer has paid off, and how the Lord answers prayers in his perfect timing. :)

Later that day, the Britannia Sisters had a baptism!! So we went and sang a beautiful song. Alex was supposed to come, but hosed us. So we were feeling pretty discouraged, honestly. But the song we same (Come Unto Christ) hit me right in the core. It talks all about how we need to come unto Him, and that is how we truly can be happy. We need to let Him in. In that moment, that's what I did. I turned it all over to Him; the discouragement, the fear, everything. And the Spirit that followed was amazing. Then, we went to our appointment with a less-active, and on the bus we met Richard! He is from Nigeria and is so awesome. We are seeing him again this week. We also set up a time to have FHE with the less-active and her nonmember children! The Lord truly does consecrate our efforts when we are willing to turn everything to Him. But that's they key, we need to give EVERYTHING. Not a little bit, not some, not mostly all, but everything. That is how we can truly be happy. That is something I have learned this week. I'm so grateful for our Saviour and His love. He is my best friend and Redeemer. I KNOW He lives. I love being a missionary, and I am honestly happier than I have EVER been. Sometimes, I get so happy that I don't even know how to handle myself. The Gospel is true and THAT is why I am happy. :)

Well! I'm so grateful for all ya'll. Thank you for everything. :) Love you all!

Xx
