This week has been the definition of
receiving the blessings after the trial of your faith. But all I can say is how
grateful I am for Sister Griffeth!! Seriously. I could not survive without her.
She is such a blessing to me, and I am so happy that we have been together. I
couldn't ask for a better companion at this time. :)
Monday for P-Day we went to the
Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, and Science Museum, with
the other sisters in our zone. (Sister Grant and Sister Van Zyl) And we ate at
an all you can eat pizza buffet with the zone. So that was chill, and delicious
haha. :)
Tuesday was district meeting and I
gave a training on The Power of the Spirit in Conversion, but I focused more on
how to obtain that in our own life. Because as we become more converted, we can
bring that spirit unto people's hearts, and then they can bring it into their
heart. :)
Wednesday, our appointment with
Angela fell through again. She is really having a rough time right now, but we
are still in contact with her almost every day. She is SO strong. She just has
a lot on her plate right now. But we are praying for her each and every day.
She's amazing, and such a blessing to us. We are just trying to help her
realise that now. We also saw Sandra, a super great less-active. Every time we
go over, she is starting to open up more and more. And this time, she was
happier than ever. She is so sweet, and I'm so glad that we have been able to
reach out to her, and bring the Spirit and Gospel to her. You can tell that she
is really starting to feel it in her home. Ah I just love her. :)
Thursday was another tube strike,
which meant there were NO tubes ALL day. London goes into a chaos when that
happens. They add 250 buses on the road, plus everyone takes their cars if they
have them. Or walk. or cycle. There are literally people EVERYWHERE. Buses are
JAMPACKED and everyone is angry and hot and sweaty... So we just stayed in Holborn
and street contacted. :) And honestly? It was HARD. One of those "no one
wants to listen, everyone is scoffing at us, Sister Moody almost got hit by a
car, there are a lot of pigeons around, and no one wants to talk about the
Gospel even though it will change their lives" days. But we kept pressing
on. Then, we had to jump on the bus to head out to the VC. So normally it takes
us about 30 minutes on the tube, or an 45 minutes to an hour on the bus, but
because of the tube strike, we left 2 hours early. (We had to be there at 3 and
left at 1) After sitting on the bus for 30 minutes, and only moving about a 15
minute walk away. We jumped off at Piccadilly Circus and just walked to South
Kensington instead. (Like an hour? Not too bad. And we beat the bus) That was a
fun adventure. :)
Friday we did exchanges in the VC!
So I went with Sister Apiyo, and Sister Griffeth and Sister Croft were
together. It was so much fun! I love Sister Apiyo and I learned SO much from
her. Then later that night, we went over to Roses for dinner with Michael. And
for dessert? WE HAD BANANA LUMPIA!! It's this really good thing that I had in
Hawaii that is from the Philippines. I has in heaven and didn't dare count how
many I ate.
Saturday was the VC meeting. Sister
Phillips and I gave a training on ministering with confidence, and it was
really great. :) I just LOVE our VC family! I love being able to serve around
these magnificent missionaries. I love being able to present a training to them
every week, and learn from their insights, roleplays, and testimonies. :)
Whilst walking down Exhibition road,
a pigeon pooped on Sister Griffeth.
So Sunday, we were honestly feeling
a little down. John didn't answer his phone, Kemi nor Angela came to church, we
hadn't found any new investigators yet even though we had tried SO hard,
etc...we shouldn't have, but we felt pretty low. Then as we were walking to
church, we said to this sweet older lady, who seemed surprised, and just
immediately told us how beautiful we were! She kept repeating it and then
leaned in and hugged us. And that was when I smelled the alcohol hahahahaha. :)
She was SO drunk. She kissed our cheeks and touched our faces and kept hugging
us. She asked if we could live with her, if she could adopt us, etc...haha she
also told us that she had looked for God last week, but couldn't find Him. It
was SO funny. As we walked away, she yelled goodbye, and stopped some random
person to tell her about us. It brightened our mood and made us laugh so hard.
So that turned out to be a tender mercy. :) Then at church, a member introduced
us to his non-member fiancee! She is SO sweet, she also wants to continue
learning, and so we have her information, and she is coming again next week.
THEN, during the last 5 minutes of church, Cliff showed up! We met him a few
weeks back, but he hadn't been able to ever make it to church, or keep his
appointments. But then he came! That was really cool. So we learned the lesson
of continuing to work hard, even when it's rough. There are times where you try
SO hard, but nothing every comes of it. But in all reality, you never know how
many seeds you are planting, and how mean people you are helping. And as long
as we continue to try out best, the Lord will bless us and consecrate our
efforts.
Well! I love this Gospel, and I love
all ya'll. Have a fantastic week! Thank you for all the support. :)
Cheers
Sister Moody
