20 YEARS OLD AND THE START OF MY 8TH TRANSFER

Hello all! :)

This week has been pretty great! Sister Wai is really fantastic! I'm excited to be able to serve with her for this upcoming transfer. :) She was also in marching band and loves a lot of the same things I do, so we geek out on that a lot. It's fine.

Wednesday we were able to go see a less-active, Sandra, with Brother Carmichael (counsellor in the Bishopric) and it was really great! Her son was there, and he was the most responsive we have ever seen. It was really wonderful to have Brother Carmichael there! His testimony and friendliness to them, was just what they needed. I'm excited to continue seeing her. :)

Thursday was weekly planning, because Friday was zone meeting!

On Friday we had zone meeting! That was really great. The ZL's gave a great training about charity and love, and the STL's gave one on getting people to church! It was really great. :) Then afterward, we went and saw a former investigator, Reza. He is really good, but lacks commitment. We're still unsure if we are going to try and keep teaching him or give him more time. Later, we had a dinner appointment with Rose and Michael! Rose wanted to celebrate my birthday so she made an AMAZING banana cake. Man, I love banana cake haha! Then we had a great lesson on tithing. Rose bore a POWERFUL testimony and so did Michael. I really love them!! They have strengthened my testimony so much.

Saturday we had the VC meeting! Sister Lung and I gave a training on Standards of Excellences, and what they are. I think it went well! Sister Dabrowska gave a beautiful spiritual thought at the beginning, in which she defined standards and talked about their important in motivation. I loved it. It's so true, too! No, everything we do is NOT about the numbers, but when we have standards, then we know what we can achieve and go above. It helps us know what the Lord expects of us. We are capable of so much, and these helps us see our potential, and reach it. :)

Afterward, Sister Wai and I stopped by a bunch of potentials in Pimlico and that was fun! We rode on so many sketchy lifts. So this one, we walk into the building and it is SO posh. We were pretty happy, because it seems that usually missionaries go to the dodgy places. There was a sign that said "4th Floor: Flats 141-150" We were looking for 141, so that's where we went. Logical, right? WRONG. We got to the floor and there was no 141. We asked someone, and they had no clue. Strange. So we got back on the lift to check the 3rd floor. We get on, and press the button and it doesn't move. Then it goes to the 5th floor. Then the ground floor. But the door doesn't open until we press the button tons of times. So we ran out. I'm not saying it's haunted but......

Then we went to this estate where we had quite a few potentials, and we stopped by them. SO MANY SKETCHY LIFTS. Doors only opening half way, weird smells, broken buttons, stuck buttons, etc...It was an adventure. But then, we looked at the time and realised we had barely enough time to stop by one potential. So we knocked, and she didn't remember missionaries, but was okay with us coming back! So we will see her tonight. :)

Also, Saturday was my birthday! I can't believe I'm 20 though! I loved celebrating my birthday here. For breakfast in the morning, the sisters surprised me with muffins, raspberry apple juice, and...BACON!! My favourite things! And then at shift change, the senior couples are amazing and had banana cake and ice cream. I just LOVE everyone here. This is my family, and my best friends for life. :) I was just overwhelmed with gratitude the whole day! Elder Francis and Elder Tamilarason (The elders in our ward) gave us a great gift, too. They called us and told us that they had talked to a member whose fiancee isn't a member, but we have been trying for AGES to get in contact with. Well, the elders had set up an appointment for us before church! It was great! So the next day we met with them and committed Chioma to be baptised on the 26th of September. It was a really great lesson! She is SO sweet. :)

Angela and Kemi are both doing pretty good. They've been busy or sick this week so we haven't been able to see them, but have stayed in contact.

So the reason our P-Day is on Tuesday, is because we had a mission conference yesterday, with Clayton and Christine Christensen! (For you missionaries out there, he helped with the Susan Fulcher case study) It was amazing!! He gave great insights on working with members, creating venues of conversion, helping investigators get to baptism, etc... I loved it so much. And what a privilege it was to be taught by him! He is an amazing man.

Well! I love Whitechapel and am grateful to be here for one more transfer. :) Thank you all for everything!!

Love, Sister Moody
