HARD TIMES MAKE IT ALL WORTH IT

Hello all!

This week has been rough. But I've learned so much. We had a lot of people drop us, disappear, etc... but that's okay! We're learning, growing, and still seeing miracles happen everyday. :)
Tuesday, we had district meeting. We talked a lot about being "the perfect missionary," but not the "without flaw missionary", Perfection being defined as being complete and whole in Christ. It was great. There is a great talk by Elder Garret Gong that has changed my mission and life and just everything. It's called "Becoming Perfect in Christ". I highly recommend it. :)
Wednesday, we finally had a lesson with Angela! We really emphasized the Book of Mormon, harder than ever. That's where some of her hesitations are at, so that's what we talked about. :) it was incredible though, because it was 100% by the Spirit. We had a lesson planned out to teach The Plan of Salvation (from Atonement to 3 Kingdoms) and we had it planned pretty detailed. Scriptures, questions, how we would transition, etc...We walked into that lesson feeling SO prepared. :) Then the Spirit kicked in and we took it in a completely different direction-the direction she needed. And we felt even more prepared! It truly was an example of the words being given in the very moment we need them. And as long as we do our part to prepare, the Lord will help. :)
Later that night we had a great lesson with 2 new investigators, Jan and David, and a member, Charity. It was really good! We introduced the church, because they knew nothing about it, and got to know them more. They are pretty hesitant, but there was a great spirit there and so we will see how it all pans out. :)
Thursday, we had lunch with the senior couple, the Neeleys, and it was wonderful! :) We all shared our favourite scriptures or what we studied that morning and there really was a great spirit there.
Friday, we went to stop by a less-active that the Bishop had asked us too, but had the hardest time finding it. We're are pretty sure the address doesn't exist haha..BUT I was able to talk to this super sweet lady on the bus! She lives outside the mission, but is in South Kensington a lot, and said she will pop by the VC soon! She was just bubbly and smiley, and I didn't even have to try hard to keep the conversation going. :)
Saturday, we had the VC meeting and we gave a training on using the Cinema more effectively. It was really good. :) I'm so blessed to be a part of this great Visitor Centre family. :) And to be able to be in the VC! We see so many miracles! I forget which ones happen on what days, but here are just a few. :)
This week, we had a lady come in and just ask for a Book of Mormon. She only had time to briefly talk, but in those 3 minutes, she took a book and left all of er information so that missionaries could meet with her where she lives. 3 minutes! That's all it took. People can feel the difference in the VC, compared to outside. And it's such beautiful spirit and experience to see people feel it as they walk in. We also had a young couple come in and watch Because He lives. Afterward, they simply said "Wow. That was powerful." And will be going to the church in their countries. :) We also had young man whom the Elders had brought in,cry through the film we showed, because of how touched he was. I just love serving here. And I love being a missionary. :)
So late Friday night, we got a text from the 1st counselor in the Bishopric, asking if we could give talks on Sunday, because the people that planned to, cancelled. And on Sunday he came running up to us and exclaimed that he wanted to hug us because of how grateful he was! Haha so we both talked on Sunday about the Book of Mormon. :) I loved it! It was such a wonderful opportunity to speak on something that is so close to my heart. I mean, we talk of the Book of Mormon everyday, but not in that setting. I was just so grateful. :)
We left a card in someone’s mail slot, and when I opened it, a cat was staring me down. It was slightly terrifying.
WELL! I love it here. I know it's hard. But I'm grateful for the hard times. It makes everything so much more worth it. :) I have learned so much this week, and am so grateful for the many more ahead. They're gonna be good ones. :) I love being a missionary, with all my heart! Thanks for everything. :)
Love,
Sister Moody
