Hello!!
As you can probably tell from the
subject, I'm staying in Whitechapel with Sister Wai!! WOOHOO! It will be my 5th
transfer here and I couldn't be more excited! I also will continue to be a VC
STL with Sister Lung and am SO excited to work with her for another transfer.
:)
This week was so great! We did A LOT
of finding, with not a lot of success, but the craziest thing was how FANTASTIC
I would feel afterward. No, we didn't find a new investigator, yes, we talked
to some...haha...interesting people. But I just felt so energised after, and it
made it all worth it. :)
We were stopping by a former
investigator, but they weren't home. So we walked to the end of the street and
realised that we were RIGHT next to Kemi's home! We haven't seen her in a
while, and she hasn't been responding to us, so we stopped by. And she was home
and SO happy to see us! We had a great little lesson with her, and asked her if
she had been praying about baptism. She looked at us, and said "Well, I guess
I will break the news, but......I'm definitely getting baptised." WHAT.
YES. YES. YES!!!!!! AH! She is SO great! She said that she really received her
answer and she knows it is what she wants to do. She just might be moving in
the next week or so, she's not sure, but we will see her later this week to
discuss and set a date with her. I love her SO much! So that was the highlight
of my week. :)
Wednesday we went on a trek across
Hackney to find a toilet because I was dying. Then we found one. And it was
locked. Hahaha Sister Wai was laughing at me, but hey! We talked to some cool
people, so it was all worth it. :)
Friday we were supposed to see
Vivien but when we called her to let her know we were coming she just said
"Oh, I'm on a bench in Hyde Park. COME FIND ME!" Then hung up. Well,
we didn't find her (we didn't look very hard though because it was going to be
impossible), but we talked to her on the phone on Sunday and set up another
appointment. While talking to her, I felt impressed to extend a baptismal date,
on the phone. So I did! And she accepted!! November 28th. :) She just lives
right on the border of Whitechapel and London North, so we will talk to he to
see which chapel she wants to go to.
We also had a dinner appointment
with Michael and, as always, he made us great food. :) Sister Cardall came with
us and it was so great!! :)
Saturday we had a great VC meeting.
We did some role plays for the Special Witnesses exhibit, and I got to pretend
to be a woman priest. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. And then
suddenly we heard some people come into the VC, so we all turned and....SISTER
PHILLIPS AND SISTER HUG (I mean...Megan and Naomi...) walked in! It was SO
great to see them!!!! Sister Hug is here for a week so she has been in and out
and it's been great. :) Then we went to go find in Pimlico and ended up missing
out bus stop AGAIN and ended up in the London South mission. But on the bright
side I talked to a super sweet girl on the bus. :)
Sunday we went finding in Pimlico
again and stopped by a former investigator. She was SO sweet and agreed to meet
with us again the following Sunday! So that was a great little miracle. :)
Well!! I'm so excited for this next
transfer, if you can't tell, I'm REALLY happy to be staying in Whitechapel. I
love it here and I love being a missionary. :) Sometimes, It's really tough.
But God doesn't give us anything we can't handle, and this is HIS work. When we
remember that, we feel at peace and can truly accomplish what He wants us to.
Have a great week!
Xx
