Well hello there!
Man this week has been busy but so
great!
Monday, we met up with a less active
we hadn't met yet and SHE IS SO SWEET! She is from Peru, and is just the best
person. We already love her so much and are really excited to continue visiting
her. :) We also had FHE with a member and her two little girls; they are
adorable. The oldest is almost 10 and hasn't been baptised yet, so we are going
to start going through the lessons to help her prepare. :)
Tuesday and Wednesday I got a bit of
food poisoning we think, and so I had to stay in doors mostly. But we were able
to meet with the Relief Society president and discuss a few of the members and
things she needs our help with.
Thursday was the funniest day of my
life. So because of some circumstantial things, we weren't able to make it to
the Whitechapel district meeting, so we went to London Norths instead! And The
Zone Leaders, (Elder Williams and Elder Chronister) told the whole district
that there were "2 special guests" coming. So the ZL's picked us up
and the station to take us to the chapel, and on the way called Elder Hansen,
the District Leader, to tell him that they were on their way with the
"guests." Hahaha apparently Elder Hansen was FREAKING out and they
all thought it was going to be President and Sister Stevens and they were just
held in a lot of suspense. And Elder Williams and Elder Chronister kept egging
them on. Sooo funny. Then we walk up to the chapel and Elder Williams calls and
says "Hey we're almost here, the guest want everyone sitting in their seat
quietly reading this talk from April 2014 conference." Then they had us
wait about 4 minutes before coming, and when we walked in..man. The looks on
their faces were priceless. Hahaha and then we had a really great district
meeting complete with a 3 course meal afterwards!!
Friday we had the greatest VC
miracle! This man named Andy came in and said he had talked to a missionary on mormon.org, and felt
really uplifted, so he wanted to come in! We taught him lesson 1 and the spirit
was just overwhelming the whole time. We gave him a Book of Mormon and invited
him to read, and to meet with missionaries. He left all his information, and
the best part? He's 28 and so we referred him to the Britannia elders!! He also
Facebooked Sister Wai and I later that night to set up a time the next day to
come in again and chat. The unfortunately, we did get another message saying he
wanted to take a few weeks to really think about it before committing
himself...BUT THEN we got another one where he said he really felt his heart
being pulled here, his Mom just wanted him to take it slow. SO! We will see
where it goes! He is SO nice and So prepared!! We're excited to see how it all
works out. :)
Then on Friday night we had a lesson
with Angela. We taught her about The Gospel of Jesus Christ and committed her
to really come to church (she hasn't been since Sister Wai came). She said she
would and SHE DID! On Sunday she walked in and we ran to her and told her how
happy we were. :) The talks were all about things she needed to hear and she
told us that she was so grateful that she came.
Saturday we went to go and see the
less active again, but because of some events, weren't able to have a lesson,
but we did see her for a few minutes! She gave us a big hugs and told us how
she appreciated us coming. We'll see her again this week. :)
Sunday, was beautiful! Church was SO
good and Angela was able to come. :) And Kemi came, too!!!!!!!!!! She walked in
right after the sacrament, as Sister Wai and I were both preparing to go to her
house and get her haha. We were able to have a lesson after with her, where we
extended a baptismal date for November 7th. She said she will pray about it,
but it feels really good. We're so excited!! She's great and I really love
her.
That night, we had dinner at
Michael's house with Harriet. :) During the meal, we played the full length
Joseph Smith movie, (which is my most favourite movie ever.) And then after we
introduced him to Sons of Provo. He's a DJ, and he LOVED it. He said he is so excited
to show his friends how normal Mormon's are. Hahahaha. :)
Well, this week I've really been
able to see all the little miracles and answers God gives us each and every
day. When we open our eyes and look for these, and pray for the spirit to help
us see them, our attitude changes, and we can truly see God's hand in
EVERYTHING. I'm so grateful for this Gospel and how it changes lives, as it has
changed mine. :)
Love you all! Thanks for everything.
:)
Xx Sister Moody
